Pura Vida Ministries Founder and Facilitator:
Teresita DeAngelis
BRE. MA. RN.
Teresita DeAngelis, who has been a Christian for half a century now, was born, raised and schooled in Brooklyn, New York. Originally trained in classical music, Teresita has worked as a reader to the blind, recording engineer, and after nursing school, worked as a cardiology nurse at Beth Israel and later, South Miami hospital. Teresita DeAngelis's resume includes a Bachelor in Religious Studies, a Masters degree in social work, a registered RN (nurse), as well as being an ordained minister from the Evangelical Bible Seminary in Florida, USA.
Teresita says her calling to spread God's word goes as far back as to when she was six years old, in Sunday School, but it was not until several years ago, inspired by the word of God, Teresita DeAngelis conceived of Pura Vida Ministries while en route to a surf mission in Nicaragua.
Long affiliated with the Vineyard Church, she has participated and led missions in Nicaragua, Cuba, New Orleans, Brooklyn, Israel, and Canada. Teresita's spiritual gifts are administration and evangelism. Her vision is to develop a bi-lingual church next door to her mission outpost at Villa Las Tecas.
Teresita, aunt and God-Mother to five, is mother to three cats, named Gate, Bicho and Feo, as well as a teddy bear-esque dog named Ruthie. She loves to go to the beach and play Scrabble as well!
